Neither of my kids like gingerbread. We still made lots of houses when they were little. Well…actually…my mom made gingerbread houses with them. They loved adding the candy decorations and eating as they built. Both boys always loved to build things, so they extended that love into building and decorating a gingerbread house every year. Candy and construction – what a great combination for two little boys. I, on the other hand, never much had the patience for three-dimensional work. As a creative person, I’ve tried macramé, pottery, jewelry making, and a few other short-lived experiments, including gingerbread house making. I always come back to my love of creating two-dimensional art. I’d rather draw or paint a gingerbread house than build one. Or eat one for that matter.
