I’m Pamela Wingard and I paint expressive and painterly artwork.
I write about art, color, design, creative business and creativity. I like to write about books and travel too because those are all my favorite things. When I’m not painting or drawing, you’ll find me planning my next travel adventure, writing in my journal, or cooking something with lots of fresh herbs and garlic.
- I am most comfortable in my old jeans and either my cowboy boots or my flip-flops, depending on the season.
- I have lived in four US time zones but I’d rather have my toes in the sand than anywhere else.
- I like hardback books, the smell of salt water, and red wine in a big glass.
- I dream of owning a motorcycle, watching the sunset every night from my dock, and meeting the Barefoot Contessa.
- I grew up in a small town in the Midwest where I read lots of library books, drew in my sketchbook, and dreamed of being a traveling photojournalist.
I hope to connect with and inspire others through my art, writing, and teaching, while adding a little happiness to the world.

Hi Pam: I thought I had seen your name and profile in that last BYW course, right? But then I couldn’t find it again… I zeroed in on it because, I think, you were off to Surtex in May. Having done Surtex for 15 years, I’m always on the lookout for the mention!! It’s been a few years now, and I’m not really designing any more…but I did design, and owned a studio with employees (yikes..) for over 10 years. That was when I lived up north in the Hudson Valley. Now we live down here, very near you, in Pittsboro! Love love love it down here.
I just wanted to touch base and stay in touch, and I’ll follow you now. You’re on Instagram, right? That’s my favorite!
Have a lovely weekend!
Hi! Yes- was in the BYW course too! I did exhibit in Surtex but not this year. Did you? Please stay in touch now that we are ‘neighbors’. I will look for you on Instagram as well.
Libby – just looked you up on Instagram and realized that I remember your name and your work from when I attended NSS. We may have even met- not sure. Beautiful floral patterns I think?
