COASTAL HOLIDAY
What is it about being at the beach in the winter? The air is chilly; the sky is gray, but it feels relaxing and cozy.
A puzzle spread out on the table, a fuzzy blanket to wrap up in, and new Christmas toys to play with. Having time to catch up on that new novel, walk on the beach with a steaming cup of coffee, or take a much-needed nap. Watching bowl games and snacking on leftover Christmas cookies.
It’s all about the pace.
Whether at the beach or enjoying down-time at home, it’s a good time to regroup and think about the new year. I tried to capture it with a muted color palette and some loose lines.
These new paintings are various sizes and prices so I hope you can find something that is just perfect for you or a loved one. Or you and a loved one.
How about you? Do you like the beach in the off-season?
“The sea does not reward those who are too anxious, too greedy, or too impatient. One should lie empty, open, choiceness as a beach – waiting for a gift from the sea.”
– Anne Morrow Lindbergh
I’m ‘flip-flopping’ collections and releasing ‘COASTAL HOLIDAY‘ on December 1 instead. There are more ‘small-size, perfect for giving’ pieces in this series so it made sense. Look for it on social media and my website tomorrow morning.
