CREATIVE BUSINESS RESOURCES. A FEW OF MY FAVORITES.
There’s a lot to figure out when running an art business, and that can be overwhelming. Fortunately, there are great creative business resources online that can provide support through online classes, one-on-one consulting, or membership groups. I have personally taken classes from most of these women and listened to all of their podcasts. Trust me, they have a wealth of knowledge to share and are super-smart!
Here are a few of my favorites for both creative business resources and personal inspiration:
Art Biz Success. Allyson Stanfield. Kind, encouraging, organized, and a true professional. Allyson has years of experience in both consulting and teaching courses for artists. I took a blogging class from her years ago and just completed her email marketing course last year. If you haven’t read her book ‘I’d Rather Be in the Studio,‘ it is an excellent creative business resource for marketing your art and getting organized.
The Art Coaching Club at Scouted Studio. Hayley is an artist and runs an online gallery and a coaching business. I haven’t joined the membership yet, but I listen to her podcast regularly, and she provides solid advice for the business side of growing a creative business. She also offers templates that help provide systems for finances and marketing.
Maria Brophy. I heard Maria and her artist husband Drew Brophy speak at a creative conference a few years back. She is down-to-earth, approachable, spiritual, and smart! Her book Art, Money, Success is a great reference for career artists. She also hosts a podcast, offers an online course, and provides art business consulting.
All of these women provide encouragment and creativity tips in addition to business sense.
Here with Allison James. I met Allison at a creative conference; she is authentic and talented, and I find her honesty and inspiration motivational in my own business. She occasionally makes her online classes available for students, so keep an eye out for when ‘Creative Money’ goes live. I found it helpful with both mindset and the nuts and bolts of running an art business.
Art with Adele Academy. Adele breaks down the painting process with a fun approach to creativity and the painting process. Her energy and positivity are contagious and her online art academy is available to join only a couple of times a year. I found her creative business resources to be helpful, but I also like learning about her art processes and creativity guides.
Emily Jeffords offers both online courses and monthly membership. I have taken ‘Making Art Work,’ and it changed my creative business. I’m also a member of The Collective, which offers ongoing training and resources. She has a nurturing approach that I found to be both encouraging. But even more importantly, her resources are invaluable.
