FEELING GROUNDED. NEW ART COLLECTION.
Feeling Grounded. New Art Collection Available March 28. Early Access to newsletter subscribers on Friday, March 27 at 10 am.
Many of my art collections reference travel—getting away, road trips, seeing unknown places, because that’s what I like to do.
This one’s different.
It’s an uncertain time, and I’m reminding myself of what’s important to me. Being thankful, looking inward, spending time with my family, focusing on the good. The value of home, family, and faith in God. Of knowing who you are and who you want to be, and how you treat people. Of finding peace and stability in a chaotic world. Feeling grounded. Balance.
Last year, my husband and I became empty-nesters with lots of travel plans, either vacationing or working on the go. It surprised me to find that although I missed my kiddos; I loved every minute of the travel. Then in June, our family of four took a big trip to Europe, as part of my oldest son’s college graduation. It was a big trip for us. A ‘last hurrah’ so to speak, before he started a ‘real job.’
And it was wonderful.
Beautiful places we’d never seen before, amazing Italian food, French coffee, wine tastings, a pizza making class, a World Cup soccer game, and fantastic family time.
But at the end of the summer, my mom got sick. She is doing well, and for that I’m incredibly thankful. But the last six months have been full of doctor’s appointments, hospital stays, and caretaking. And then the latest craziness of the current situation with the coronavirus.
I’m sharing the personal information because it’s real.
Not to over-share, but as a reminder that life is full of ups and downs. Some are devastating, some are glorious. It’s important to find your peace, and to stay grounded and balanced. It’s a process, and it’s different for everyone. Personally, I find peace in my faith. But I still have to remind myself.
This collection is,a personal reminder about feeling grounded. Finding balance.
I hope you think so too.
Take a look at my mini collection of florals as well. After all it IS spring. GRATITUDE COLLECTION.
