HAVEN CONFERENCE & THE ROUND TOP ANTIQUES SHOW
I was recently in Texas for my son’s college ‘mom’s weekend’ and discovered that Haven Conference was hosting a video retreat near Round Top Texas. We met and stayed at a beautiful lakefront home outside Round Top. In addition to the Haven Conference, a bonus was a day at the Round Top Antiques Show, which I’d always wanted to see.
You may see more videos on my Instagram feed after attending Haven.
The video editing workshop was designed for a small group of attendees and hosted by Kristin from Haven Conference, Jessica from Itty Bitty Farmhouse, and Sarah from Blessed Crazy Texas Nest. The sessions were led by Simply 2 Moms, Never Skip Brunch, Bricks N Blooms, and ToolBox Divas. The intimate group made it easy to get to know people and ask questions.
There were presentations about different video editing apps and the processes that worked best for different bloggers. We also had hands-on workshops and endless discussions with like-minded women.
Along with our time learning with Haven, we made a trip to the Round Top Antiques Show, which I have wanted to attend for years! Like everything else in Texas, it’s huge! I enjoyed seeing the artists that exhibited there, but you could find anything you might want. My new friend Kim from Farmhouse to Florida bought a great table and had it shipped home and I found a little piece of china I loved. It was a fun day and a great way to get to know the other attendees.
We hit up the Junk Gypsy and I could have spent the afternoon there, listening to the live music and eating tacos.
Back at our Haven haven, (lol) we roasted marshmallows under the Texas sky, ate lovely Tex Mex dinners prepared by Kristin, Jessica, and Sarah, and had lots of good conversation. And get this, I even slept on the top bunk of a bunk bed. And slept like a baby.
I’ve attended the larger Haven Conference a couple of times, and I’d recommend it. It’s days full of hands-on projects, demonstrations, speakers, small groups, and inspiration! It is a community of home décor and DIY bloggers and a wealth of information.
