‘ITALY’ ART COLLECTION: BEAUTIFUL LIFE
This ‘Italy’ art collection is inspired by lemons, deep blue water, cobblestone streets.
And limoncello, of course.
Our family of four visited Italy in 2019, and one of our stops was the Amalfi coast. We walked down the cobblestone streets of Positano and had a lunch of fresh pasta, bread, and wine. Or maybe ‘birra’ for our sons. Traveling to Italy with my family inspired me to paint this ‘Italy’ art collection of small works.
Our younger son, who was in college and yet to actually begin working a ‘real job’ said, “I want to retire here.’
Yeah, me too.
It summed up the beauty of the place, for sure.
I’ve been fortunate enough to see a lot of places, and this might be the most beautiful.
I hope to go back someday and spend a little more time there. But for now, this ‘Italy’ art collection of nine works on paper will have to do.
Travel inspires much of my work and I’m SO very thankful for that last opportunity before 2020 arrived. Traveling to Italy was a life-long dream. It was such great family time with my husband and two sons who are now men, and I will always be grateful for that trip.
I painted each piece on heavyweight watercolor paper in mixed media. I used acrylics, oil pastels, artist wax crayons, graphite, and charcoal. After completing them, I finished the artwork with matte varnish for archival purposes. The 11 x 14 pieces fit into a standard frame or I like a nice wide three-inch mat.
Available November 26 on my website. I’m releasing with my Holiday collection of Christmas ornaments and small works on paper and canvas.
