SOUTHERN LIVING MAGAZINE & THE SOUTHERN LIVING IDEA HOUSE
Well, my art didn’t make the cover of Southern Living magazine. LOL. Or even the magazine, but I’m excited to be a part of the Southern Living Idea House at River Dunes.
If you haven’t read my previous post about the Southern Living Idea magazine, here’s the scoop:
Charlotte Lucas Interiors designed the entire home, which is richly layered with gorgeous art, wallpaper, and unique finds. It feels like a home full of items collected and passed down over the years. The house was featured in this month’s Southern Living magazine.
She selected two of my archival prints for her project; one for the guest suite and one for the home office. One piece was in a nook over a desk, and the other on a wall over a bar cart. They looked fabulous, but since primarily large art was featured in the photographs, neither appeared in Southern Living magazine. Ah well, maybe next time. It was still so much fun to see the Southern Living Idea House and my work used in the project. As an interior design lover, I also enjoyed touring the house, getting ideas for my home, and appreciating the beautiful artwork. And there was a lot of it!
The November issue of Southern Living magazine has now hit the newsstand.
I’m free to share the photos we took at the house. Pick up a copy at the newsstand if you don’t subscribe because it’s a great story with fabulous photos.
My archival prints were framed beautifully, and I’m pleased with how they turned out. These are good options for framing an inexpensive print in an area of your house that is more of a ‘supporting cast’ and less of a ‘headliner.’ Charlotte Lucas Interiors made a contemporary frame look fabulous in a traditional room, and I love the combination.
I’ll soon have a collection of 12 prints available on my website, but right now, I only have some of them in my online shop. The prints in the Southern Living Idea House are available, along with a companion work for each, just in case you like a pair. Each is printed on heavyweight watercolor paper. They look so much like the originals I can barely tell the difference, and I painted them. They are now available in an 11 x 14 size, but I hope to have some larger options too. I think they’d look lovely as 16 x 20.
Here are a few photos we took while touring the Southern Living Idea House. Want to see more? Pick up a copy of this month’s Southern Living magazine.
